Some notes during a very low tide.

Summary:
The winter visitors are arriving including Brent Geese,Wigeon, Golden & Grey Plovers.
Brent Gs: approx 240 with one main flock on Sturt Pond
Wigeon: approx 30
Teal: around 70, mainly at Sturt Pond.
Little Egret: 6 spread across the area.
Oystercatcher: 20+ across are.
Golden Plover: 17 off sea wall adjacent to Saltgrass
Grey Plover: 32 – spread across patch
Dunlin: 70+ spread around the creeks
Black-tailed Godwit: 95+
Bar-tailed Godwit: 1 solitary winter plumage adult bird feeding in Mount Lake. Quite unusual nowadays.
Curlew: 25+ across area
Greenshank: 1 feeding in ebbing water at New Lane Bridge
Redshank: 30+ across patch
Black-headed Gull: approx. 170 across patch.
Numbers of Brent should be increasing weekly as they head down from Siberia.
