The weather at the time was wet & windy so wader & wildfowl numbers low. Still waiting for a real cold spell to push wildfowl down to south coast to boost local numbers.
Brent Goose – approx. 225 counted but there may be more.
Red-breasted Merganser – 4 in Mount Lake.
Great-crested Grebe – 1 feeding in river estuary.
Little Egret – 5 seen across the marsh and Hurst.
Oystercatcher – 23 counted across the patch
Grey Plover – only 15 counted
Dunlin – approx. 240 counted
Black-tailed Godwit – 15 feeding in field adjacent to New Lane, 2 at Hurst.
Curlew – 14 counted
Redshank – 22 counted
Great black-backed Gull – 1 on Sturt.
