Hurst and Keyhaven Nature Reserve
Hurst Spit Nature Reserve is a vibrant haven for many protected, rare, and important species. Depending on the season, you might be lucky enough to see Ringed Plovers, endearing ground-nesting birds on the UK ‘red-list’ due to their declining numbers, Little Robins, a beautiful yet tiny wildflowers, or the enchanting Marbled White butterfly.
Each winter, internationally significant numbers of Brent Geese, Dunlin, and other migratory shorebirds grace our coast to rest and rejuvenate. Our thanks go to our volunteers who provide us with these updates.
