Through the Hurst Narrows

The Hurst Narrows are the narrow stretch of water between Hurst Castle and the Isle of Wight, forming the western entrance to the Solent. Known for their fast-moving tides, shifting shingle banks, and challenging navigation, the Narrows have been an important passage for centuries, used by naval vessels, merchant ships, ferries, lifeboats, and pleasure craft alike.
